Trafficking Training for MASH Volunteers

In March this year MASH Outreach Staff joined Greater Manchester Police in a Week Of Action on operations to encourage trafficked women in sex work to engage with the police and with support from MASH.

Tina and our Romanian and Hungarian Interpreters accompanied Challenger officers late at night on operations the beat. Tina said ‘We do see some women at risk of being exploited or trafficked and we were really pleased to be working in partnership with GMP to tackle this. The Modern Slavery Unit are listening to specialist agencies like MASH and the operations we have been involved in led to perpetrators being arrested for ‘Trafficking and Controlling Prostitution for Gain’.

Any MASH volunteers who are interested in widening their knowledge of Trafficking can attend training sessions at MASH on 12th May or 24th May at 6pm with Stop The Traffik. If you would like to attend please email Dan@mash.org.uk to book your place.
