MASH photo competition winner
This is the winning photo in the MASH ‘What home means to you’ photo competition won by Rebecca from Burnage.
A panel of women from the MASH Drop-In Centre & WTB Solicitors chose a favorite each from the wonderful array of photos and Anna from FireCask chose the winner from the shortlist.
Rebecca explained her photo “What signifies home and makes me smile just at the thought is my bright orange van which is my home on the road… I always wanted a camper van but couldn’t afford one so I decided to make my own by converting a transit van myself (though every man I meet asks if my husband helped despite his total lack of DIY skills!) The van is called Odin, and has a sofa bed, table, kitchen, and electrics and has traveled all over the UK as well as to Barcelona and back over the Pyrenees mountains!”
We agree! Home does not need to be a palace, just somewhere you feel safe & keep your belongings. It’s only when we feel safe that we can start our adventures in life.
Rebecca was delighted to have won, she said “Oh wow that is amazing thank you so much! Glad you liked the photo and story, I love that van so I’m really happy someone else likes it too!”
Congratulations Rebecca who will receive a £100 Arndale Gift Voucher thanks to our wonderful sponsors WTB Solicitors.
If you are interested in the work of MASH there are lots of ways you can get involved. We are always looking for people with a sense of adventure to join one of our fun events. Contact helen on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
