Mel’s Hair Raising Challenge
Mel is one of MASH’s newest volunteers providing amazing free hairdressing sessions in the Drop-In Centre.
When Mel heard about MASH she knew she had to be part of the team helping vulnerable women to feel good about themselves. Through her charitable work with asylum seekers Mel knew the difference a haircut can make and wanted to provide women at MASH with the same treat and chance to relax.
Mel is says that MASH ‘feels like family’ and is really enjoying meeting the women who pop in the Drop-In and the other volunteers.
The next step
Now she is taking the next step and taking on a MASH charity challenge!
Being a huge fitness fan, Mel is planning to take part in this year’s Peak District Challenge . The trek offers a choice of a 25k, 50k, 75k or a 100k route and Mel is aiming for the biggest one – the 100K challenge! She has taken part in other charity events but really wants to push herself and thinks this will be a real challenge.
The salon she works at in Hebden Bridge Zeitgeist is behind her all the way, but she is keen to encourage others to help MASH too. If you think you could join Mel on the 100K or the MASH team on the 25K please get in touch today.
