Job vacancy – Head of Business Development and Support
Full time/ 35 hours per week
MASH is a busy city-centre based charity working with women who sex work to help keep them safe and more empowered to make decisions about their lives. Our small and dedicated staff team, supported by volunteers, work with more than 600 women every year and we are the only agency in Manchester working specifically with women with complex needs. In 2018, MASH was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE, which recognises exceptional work done by volunteer groups in their communities. All our staff benefit from regular development opportunities including trauma-informed training.
The Head of Business Development and Support will work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes for women who sex work:
- To improve women’s health
- To improve women’s well being
- To empower women to make choices
- To increase women’s safety
- To influence policy and practice changes in other agencies working with our clients group
- To influence a more positive view in society of our clients
This senior role will lead on MASH’s business development and business support functions, including:
- Income Generation
- HR & Administration
- Performance & Impact
The post-holder will be responsible for securing the funds needed for MASH to deliver its strategic priorities, and ensuring the organisation’s internal support functions are working as effectively as possible to ensure successful execution of our ambitious plan.
We’re looking for an experienced income generator who also has experience of wider leadership on business support functions such as finance and HR. We’re looking for an all-rounder who wants to develop their skills within a small but ambitious team, and support the organisation to develop its systems and sustainability.
The post-holder will work with other members of the MASH team to ultimately support women who sex work to improve their health and wellbeing, and to ensure greater awareness within external organisations.
This role is suited to a motivated and target driven individual with strong financial literacy skills.
Fixed Term: 18 month post with potential to extend if targets met
