Sometimes, having someone to talk to can offer a huge sense of relief, and help you to work through any problems you may have. After all, a problem shared, is a problem halved. MASH offers therapy that could help you to feel much better about any difficulties you may be facing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a talking therapy that uses problem-solving methods to help you to address difficulties and issues in your life. It teaches techniques and skills to use after therapy.
It works by focusing on the how you think about things, what you believe about life and how this affects your behaviour and life. It helps you recognise and modify negative thinking patterns, moods and behaviors to encourage a helpful and balanced approach to life.
Women are referred to our experienced therapist, Karen, by case workers. Karen would set up an initial meeting to explain the nature of CBT and asses your needs and goals. If you decide it is right for you she would arrange a weekly or fortnightly appointment in the Counseling Room at MASH.
The therapy is completely confidential and non-judgemental, delivered by a empathic and supportive therapist, who has your best interests at heart.
